"Be reconciled to God" Thus speaks St Paul in the second reading for Mass on Ash Wednesday. Lent begins. A time of reflecting and responding. The Lord's own Forty Days in the wilderness brought him to better understand his own identity as Messiah and the need for him to offer himself as the paschal lamb who takes upon himself the sins of all humanity. His Journey up to Jerusalem for the Passover that year was to be significant. He was to be the lamb of sacrifice.
Christ has already done this for his people. In the season of Lent and Easter it's our turn to respond to his call. Prayer, fasting, giving to the poor...the three pillars of Holy Lent...lets review our lives and our faith and draw closer to the Messiah. Fr Stephen.
